With an increase in conditions such as obesity, diabetes and hypertension, more persons are acknowledging the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It is with this in mind that Welch’s grape Juice and the Heart Foundation of Jamaica will launch the Annual Heart Health Fund on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the Altamont Court hotel in Kingston.

With a sponsorship package including cash and in kind support, the Wisynco Brand, Welch’s holds title sponsorship for the Fund Run, which will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at the National Stadium’s East field from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The Heart Health Fund Run (the Foundation’s biggest fundraising activity) has been an ongoing event on the Heart Foundation’s calendar since November 1978 and is highly recognized for the healthy heart message it promotes via exercise, partaking in sporting events and consuming heart healthy products such as Welch’s grape Juice. Welch’s grape juice since 2007 has been endorsed by the Heart Foundation of Jamaica as having the relevant antioxidants to aid in the fight against heart related ailments.

In highlighting the merits of such a relationship, Karen Rosen, Group Marketing Manager at Wisynco commended the Heart Foundation of Jamaica for the work it has been doing and pointed to the venture as one worthy of being supported.   “Heart Health is indeed a very serious issue and the Heart foundation of Jamaica has been doing a wonderful job at informing Jamaicans about risk factors and preventative measures. We at Wisynco remain committed to this venture, by way of our title sponsorship and will work as hand in hand partners to develop the awareness about varied heart related illnesses” she said.

The Public is invited to the Fund Run on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at the National Stadium’s east field. Persons can also register by calling the Heart Foundation of Jamaica on 926-4378.
