CCS Newsletter - Volume 8 No.13 - June 2007

The 22nd Annual Caribbean Cardiology Conference will be held in Fort de France   Martinique July 18-21, 2007. The conference is designed to increase and consolidate        knowledge in the cardiology community and this year’s theme is “Managing Cardiological       Emergencies in the Caribbean”. This year’s Conference aims to share information regarding developments in the management of cardiac emergencies in the   Caribbean and the     applications of delivery of care in emergency situations that are appropriate for Caribbean states, taking into consideration the resource constraints of developing countries.  Though held in the Caribbean, the conference invites cardiologists, physicians, nurses and allied medical personnel from all across the globe.

Presentations will be made by esteemed speakers such as Dr. Renzo Cecere of McGill University Health Centre, Canada and Dr. Victor Atallah of the Dominican Republic.

During the conference, special honorary awards will be presented to Prof. Gerald Grell,         Dominica, Dr. Dominique Larifla, Guadeloupe and Dr. Cohen Tenouji, Martinique for their contribution to cardiology in their respective countries and the wider Caribbean.

For the first time in CCS history, scientific sessions will be held during the day as well as evening. The evening sessions will be presented in French to cater specifically to local physicians who have an interest in cardiology.
